2-Day Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at your hotel or residence, your guide will meet you for a brief orientation on your upcoming adventure. You will then depart for Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park and home to Rwanda’s iconic mountain gorillas. Upon arrival in Musanze, check in to your lodge and take time to unwind and enjoy the property’s facilities. In the afternoon, you will visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a world-class conservation center dedicated to the legacy, research, and impactful work surrounding gorilla protection. Explore engaging exhibitions and learn inspiring stories about gorilla conservation efforts in Rwanda and beyond. After your visit, return to the lodge for a relaxed evening. Enjoy dinner and settle in for the night as you prepare for the next day's gorilla trekking experience.

You will enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi, where you will meet your park ranger-guides. After a briefing and completing the necessary formalities, you will begin your unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure. As you journey through the lush bamboo forest, your guide will lead you to one of the habituated gorilla families. Once you locate them, you will spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, interact, and go about their daily lives, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. After your trek, you will return to Kigali. Depending on your schedule, you may stop for some last-minute souvenir shopping in the city. You will then be dropped off at your hotel/residence or transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
