Lake Manyara National Park enjoys a warm climate throughout the year. Average temperatures stay fairly steady, rarely becoming very hot. However, early mornings and evenings can feel quite cool, so visitors should bring warm clothes, especially for early game drives.
Dry Season (June to October)
The dry season is typically sunny and bright with very little rain. Daytime temperatures usually hover around 26°C (79°F), while nighttime temperatures can dip as low as 14°C (57°F), making early mornings chillier. October may see the start of some short rains towards the month's end.
Wet Season (November to May)
During the wet season, it remains warm with afternoon temperatures around 28°C (82°F) and nights averaging 19°C (66°F). The rains come in two phases: short rains between November and December, which bring occasional afternoon showers but rarely rain all day, and long rains lasting from March to May. January and February often have a dry spell between these rainy periods, but the timing can be unpredictable. Even in the wettest months, rain usually does not persist all day but tends to fall in bursts, with skies often cloudy.
