Serengeti Migration Camp

Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp is a permanent tented camp set among rocky outcrops above the Grumeti River in the north central Serengeti, within Serengeti National Park. The camp sits at the starting point of the Great Migration, and the river below is home to resident hippos. Lobo Airstrip is a 40 minute drive away, served by scheduled flights from Arusha with a flight time of about 1 hour 20 minutes. Accommodation is in 20 luxurious elevated tents, each surrounded by its own 360 degree verandah deck. Every tent has a richly furnished bedroom under all enveloping canvas, with a wooden floor, fixed wooden doors and fixed bathroom walls. The en suite shower room has a flushing toilet, a shower and a twin vanity basin with hot, solar generated, and cold running water 24 hours a day. Tents include luxuriant soft furnishings, a writing desk and stationery set, a room fan, bathrobes and slippers, an in room electronic safe and an internal telephone system. The main tent holds a split-level lounge, a swimming pool, a restaurant and viewing platforms with views across the river and the rugged landscape beyond. Dining is on a separate deck overlooking the Ndasiata Hills and the Grumeti River, either under canvas or al fresco. WiFi is available in the main lounge area. Activities centre on day long game drives with a picnic breakfast and lunch, walking safaris with a professional walking guide, sundowner cocktails on the sunset deck, and Serengeti balloon safaris, which must be booked in advance.
