Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is one of the few lodges sited inside Lake Nakuru National Park, built in terraces up the wooded flank of Lion Hill with the soda lake spread out below. The 67 rooms and suites are chalet style, timber and stone, and every one opens onto a private terrace angled at the lake and the park beyond. Standard rooms come as singles, doubles, twins and triples, while the Chui and Faru suites add more space and the Ziwa Suite, the lodge’s presidential suite, sits apart with the best view on the hill. Meals lean on the lodge’s own organic gardens, and the panoramic bar terrace is the place to end a drive. A heated swimming pool is set on a plateau above the rooms, the Tulia Wellness tent offers Swedish, holistic, aromatherapy and Indian treatments to birdsong, and the Adia gift shop stocks hand crafted pieces. Function and banquet space handles small conferences and weddings. Being inside the park means game drives to the rhino sanctuary, Baboon Cliff and Makalia Falls start minutes from the door.
