Nyumbani Camp

Nyumbani Camp is the original camp of the Nyumbani Collection, a contemporary semi-permanent tented camp pitched on the eastern edge of the Central Serengeti. It sits among a set of Serengeti kopjes near Turner Springs, facing the Ngare Nanyuki River, in a pocket of the park that stays busy with wildlife day and night. The location is close enough to the Seronera valley for dependable year-round game viewing, yet far enough off the main circuit that the camp feels private. There are eight tented suites, each 40.5 square metres, with a 13.5 square metre private verandah. Every suite can be made up as a king, twin or triple, and comes with an en-suite rain shower and flush toilet, a writing desk and a seating area. The furniture was built by artisans and carpenters in Arusha from reclaimed wood, and the suites are dressed with custom-made Indian rugs, crisp linens, duvets, bathrobes and slippers. Guest areas are a lounge and bar, a dining tent and an outdoor firepit, all open to the plains. The camp runs entirely on solar power, from water pumps and heaters through to lighting, and its tent platforms are built from recycled plastic rather than timber. Full board, all-inclusive and game package rates are offered, and day game drives leave straight from camp into the heart of the Great Migration.
