Niyara

Niyara by Ardhi Africa is a 51 room hotel on the western side of Arusha, roughly two kilometres from Arusha Airport and four kilometres from the town centre. Ardhi Africa describes itself as a small group of independently owned hotels in northern Tanzania, and Niyara is the larger of its two open properties, the other being Chanya in Moshi. The interiors are contemporary rather than safari-themed: polished concrete floors, hardwood platform beds and headboards, dark feature walls hung with large commissioned figurative paintings, ceiling fans alongside split air conditioning, a writing desk, and a seating area of sofa and armchairs in the bigger categories. Bathrooms are ensuite, with twin vessel basins set on a poured concrete vanity, a sliding glass walk-in shower, a separate WC, bathrobes and a wall-mounted hairdryer. Meals are taken in a glass-walled restaurant where banquette booths are divided by timber screens and built-in planters. Accommodation is contracted as Executive Rooms for one, two or three guests plus a Niyara Suite sleeping up to four, quoted on bed and breakfast, half board or full board. Arusha is where northern circuit itineraries are assembled and vehicles are loaded, and the hotel's position near Arusha Airport suits guests connecting onward by light aircraft to the Serengeti.
