Moyo Migration Camp Mara

Tanzania

About this stay

Moyo Migration Camp Mara is the brand's Northern Serengeti property and the only one of the three outside the Central Serengeti. Despite the name, it is not a mobile camp. Moyo describes it as a permanent camp location in the heart of the Northern Serengeti that stays open throughout the year, which sets it apart from the many northern camps that pack up outside migration season. The draw is proximity to the Mara River. Each year roughly 2.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle cross it against strong currents and waiting predators, and the camp is sited for front-row access with shorter drive times to the key crossing points than most. Peak crossing viewing runs July to October, though year-round opening means the camp also works in green season when the north is quiet. Accommodation is 12 spacious tented rooms configurable as doubles, twins or triples, plus one exclusive family tent. Fit-out matches the rest of the brand: ensuite bathroom with flushing toilet, 24-hour hot shower and double wash basin, private veranda on a wood platform, 2-way radio, universal power outlets, 24-hour electricity and an in-room safe. Dining includes bush breakfast, lunch and dinner, with outdoor settings arranged to keep wildlife views in frame. There is a common Wi-Fi area and a spa offering open-air treatments. Note that walking safaris are not offered here, running only at the Seronera camps.
