About this stay
Lake Natron Camp is a tented camp set in a grove of trees adjacent to the shores of Lake Natron, one of Tanzania's most dramatic and otherworldly landscapes. The camp provides a comfortable base for exploring this remote region, home to massive flamingo breeding colonies and the imposing Ol Doinyo Lengai — an active volcano sacred to the Maasai.
The camp features 20 spacious safari tents with en-suite bathrooms including open-air showers, flush toilets, and wash basins. Tents are furnished with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, electric lights, charging docks, and private verandas. A natural swimming pool sits beneath a canopy of trees for cooling off.
A fully stocked bar and candlelit restaurant offer cold drinks and delicious meals with a terrace overlooking Lake Natron. The daily changing four-course menu and complimentary afternoon coffee and tea provide sustenance after adventures. Activities include climbing Ol Doinyo Lengai, visiting flamingo breeding grounds, Maasai cultural encounters, and waterfall hikes.
