About this stay
Lake Masek Tented Lodge is an eco-friendly lodge in the Ndutu area of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, operated by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps. The lodge features 20 luxury en-suite tents overlooking Lake Masek, powered entirely by solar panels with rainwater collection during the wet season.
Each tent is built on a raised wooden platform with a private veranda for observing wildlife visiting the lake. Spacious bedrooms are tastefully furnished and bathrooms feature twin washbasins, a standalone bathtub, and an outdoor shower. Tents are available in king, twin, or triple configurations. Six family units offer two interconnected rooms under canvas, each with their own en-suite facilities.
The main lodge includes a restaurant and lounge with spectacular views over Lake Masek. The Ndutu location is one of the Serengeti ecosystem's prime wildlife viewing areas, particularly during the calving season from December to March when vast herds of wildebeest congregate on the short-grass plains.
