Elephants Lair

Elephants Lair is Planet Lodges' newest property, an intimate permanent tented camp inside Tarangire National Park. The camp pairs a clean, contemporary build of canvas, timber and full-height glass with the informality of a classic safari camp, and it is laid out around the park's baobab-studded plains and the seasonal movements of Tarangire's elephant herds. Deluxe tent suites open onto private decks and include ensuite bathrooms with hot water, solar-powered lighting and charging points for devices. Shared spaces run from a shaded reception lounge and a main lounge to an open-sided restaurant, a swimming pool with a deck facing the plains, a spa treatment room and a small gym. Tent numbers are deliberately limited, which suits couples, families and small groups, and the camp's position makes it a straightforward addition to itineraries linking Arusha, Tarangire and the Serengeti.
