This seasonal abundance attracts large numbers of predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena, creating some of the Serengeti’s most dramatic wildlife encounters. The surrounding wetlands, marshes, and natural springs retain water long after the rains, sustaining wildlife throughout the year and supporting the fresh grazing that draws migratory herds back season after season. The green season transforms the landscape into a lush expanse, with excellent opportunities for predator sightings along the open plains and muddy edges near the lake.
